LG Innotek Shortens Development to Optimize Vehicle Performance with Sonatus

Traditionally, vehicle components are "static" once they leave the factory, meaning their performance cannot easily be improved over time. LG Innotek is shifting to SDCs to overcome this limitation. By using software-defined technology, components like motors can be dynamically updated in real-time to respond to changing market demands for better safety, driver convenience, and improved mileage, ensuring peak performance throughout the vehicle's life.

The solution creates a continuous improvement loop using two key products:
- Sonatus Collector: Runs in both the vehicle and the cloud to capture precise, relevant data about the component's performance and send it directly to AWS for analysis.
- Sonatus Automator: Once the data is analyzed and optimal parameters are determined in the cloud, Automator deploys these new policy updates back to the vehicle. This tunes the component (e.g., a clutch control motor) in real-time without requiring a heavy Over-The-Air (OTA) software update.
